A teen accused of fatally bludgeoning and stabbing his mother is still unfit to stand trial and will likely spend another six months undergoing psychiatric treatment.
The Northwest Florida Daily News (http://bit.ly/1BbJzV8 ) reports Circuit Judge John Simon ordered 18-year-old Brandon Aydelott to remain in the care of the Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee. He says he'll review the case again on Aug. 7.
The teen is accused killing Sharon Aydelott on Christmas Eve 2013. She was a teacher at Holley-Navarre Middle School and he was a promising pitching prospect at Gulf Breeze High School.
Aydelott is accused of first-degree murder.
The judge said he'll notify the prosecution and defense attorneys if a declaration of competency is made before then next hearing.
