Panthers Take Third Straight Loss

The Panthers ended their road trip with a third straight loss on Tuesday in Philadelphia

The Florida Panthers fell for a third straight time with their 3-2 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.

The Panthers finished their six-game road trip with this loss, and it was not a successful adventure. Florida ended up going 1-2-3 and also had a coaching change take place during the trip. With this loss, the Panthers sit at 12-11-4 this year overall.

Aleksander Barkov put Florida ahead 1-0 with his goal at the 15:40 mark of the first period. Mark Pysyk and Reilly Smith assisted on Barkov's goal. The score would be Florida's only one until late in the third period.

Jussi Jokinen's second goal of the season came at the 15:12 mark of the third period to tie the game and force overtime. Colton Sceviour, and Michael Matheson helped out with the game-tying goal.

In overtime, Florida gave up the game-winning score with only nine seconds remaining. It was the second straight game that the Panthers lost in OT. James Reimer gave up the three goals for Florida and ended up with 22 saves in the loss.

Florida will head home to host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
