An investigation is underway after a car crashed into four pedestrians at a bus stop in Sunny Isles Beach Sunday evening, killing one person and sending three others to the hospital.
According to police, the incident happened on 174th Street and Collins Avenue at 8 p.m.
Police said the car was traveling northbound, when it veered off and hit four pedestrians.
One victim died on the scene, while three others were taken to the hospital. While the victims have not been identified, officials said two of the victims are children. Their identities have not yet been released.
The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with police, officials said. It’s unclear if any charges will be filed, or whether the driver was under the influence or distracted.
An investigation is now underway.
