Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a dump truck in Miami Friday morning.
The incident happened around 7:15 a.m., when the truck hit the man as he was trying to cross Northwest 9th Avenue between 14th and 15th Street, Miami Police said.
When Miami Fire Rescue crews arrived, the man was pinned under the truck. They were able to free the man and rushed him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, but he died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Police haven't released the identity of the man, but said he was in his 60s. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
