Peeping Tom Security Guard Busted for Taping Teen

Neighborhood watchman saw too much

A South Florida security guard who responded to a report of a peeping tom didn't have to search very hard for a suspect -- it was him.

Eric Michael Owens was arrested on video voyeurism, burglary and giving false information to a police officer after he allegedly took a cell phone video of a 17-year-old girl he was hired to protect, according to police.

The incident happened in a gated community in Old Cutler Bay, when the teen girl spotted someone watching her through the window as she undressed. The girl's parents called the security gate, and Owens responded. He even bothered to write up a report of the incident.

But when Coral Gables Police were called by the girl's parents, they soon figured out Owens, 28, was actually the suspect. They even found a video of the teen on his cell phone.

Owens, an employee of Wackenhut Security, was arrested Sunday and later admitted to the crime, police said.

He was being held on $9,500 bond as of Monday morning.
