Officer Cabrera responded to the Chapel Trail area near U.S. 27 and Johnson Street where he encountered the 12 and a half foot snake.

Cabrera was able to wrangle the python and take it to a police station until a licensed python remover arrived. Officers from the department even posed for a photo with the massive snake.

The department warned residents to not approach pythons but to call 911.
