Person Wanted for Questioning in Connection With University of Miami Student's Killing in Coral Gables

23-year-old Yasser Talal Ibrahim Abualfaraj was found slain Sunday

Detectives are trying to find a person they'd like to question in connection with the killing of a University of Miami student in his Coral Gables apartment.

Miami-Dade Police on Tuesday released a sketch of the person who they say was involved in "a suspicious incident" at the apartment where 23-year-old Yasser Talal Ibrahim Abualfaraj was found slain Sunday.

According to police, Abualfaraj was found with multiple signs of trauma by his roommate in the off-campus apartment in the 6500 block of Santona Street.

Authorities haven't released any information on a possible motive. UM officials said Abualfaraj, who was from Saudi Arabia, was a third year architecture student.

Friends of Abualfaraj described him as always happy with a smile on his face.

"He was the greatest person I have ever met to be honest," one friend, who didn't want to be identified, told NBC 6. "It was so sad and shocking because we don’t know anything about him fighting with anybody or he has any enemy. No, he has no enemy."

Loved ones gathered in a candlelight vigil for Abualfaraj Tuesday night outside the school of architecture, where he spent hours studying.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
