A pickup truck crashed under a tractor trailer at N. Okeechobee Road and NW 121st Way in Hialeah Gardens Tuesday afternoon, crunching the front of the pickup.
The driver was removed from the pickup and airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, authorities said.
The accident happened as the white tractor trailer was turning left from NW 121st Way onto N. Okeechobee Road. Both trucks came to a stop in the middle of Okeechobee Road, with the pickup and the back end of the tractor trailer blocking a southbound lane of the road.
Fire and rescue vehicles shut down the southbound lanes.
