Police Arrest Teen Suspect in Goulds Security Guard Shooting

Witnesses were able to help police identify the suspect

Miami-Dade police have made an arrest in the shooting of a Goulds apartment complex security guard.

A 16-year-old suspect was arrested on attempted second-degree murder charges Tuesday in the shooting, an arrest report said. NBC 6 is not releasing his name due to his age.

The security guard told police he witnessed the suspect walking in between cars while on patrol in the 21000 block of Southwest 112th Avenue. When the guard attempted to ask the suspect what he was doing, the teenager allegedly drew a gun from his waist and fired it multiple times, the report said.

Witnesses were able to help police identify the suspect.

The security guard, who was not identified, was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital South where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
