Police in Coral Gables chased down and arrested a man wanted for an armed robbery Monday morning.

Officers said they caught up to Rogelio Marten, 32, after he crashed his car and tried to make a run for it Monday afternoon in the area of Antilla Avenue and Douglas Road.

Investigators said they had been looking for Marten since the morning after a report of an armed robbery involving lawn equipment.

An officer spotted a vehicle fitting the description from that robbery. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, Marten refused. A small chase ensued and the suspect crashed. He then bailed out and took off on foot. The officer chased him down and took him into custody

Marten is charged with burglary, strong armed robbery, aggravated battery on a police officer, fleeing and eluding, resisting with violence, leaving the scene of a traffic crash and driving on a suspended license.

A judge set his bond at $52,500.
