Police Hunt Pair Who Shot, Robbed Man in NW Miami-Dade

Police are searching for a pair of young men who robbed and shot a man outside his northwest Miami-Dade home.

The crime happened back on December 5, when 51-year-old Edel Vega returned to his home in the 2300 block of Northwest 107th Street and was approached by the armed suspects, Miami-Dade Police said.

The robbers demanded money from Vega then grabbed the necklaces from his neck before shooting him several times in his lower extremities, police said.

The suspects fled in a car driven by a third suspect. Vega was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where he underwent surgery.

Police released sketches of the suspects, who they said are black males between 17 and 19 years old, both with thin builds. One is about 5-foot7 and the other is 5-foot-9, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
