Police Impersonators Try To Rob Hialeah Apartment

Police are searching for at least two people involved in this burglary

Hialeah Police were searching for at least two men who impersonated officers to burglarize a man's apartment.

They knocked on the man's door, and when he opened, they rushed in and began ransacking the home at 1425 W. 41st Street.

The alleged victim _ who would only give his name as Roberto _ said the men knocked on his door and showed their badges. They said they were there to search the home and they put him in plastic handcuffs.

He realized they weren't officers when he overheard one man tell another to look for the money, that's when he got loose and punched one of them in the eye, he told NBC 6. They then fled.

A neighbor heard the struggle and called police.

Meanwhile, the man got a kitchen knife and ran after them, and before they escaped, he says he threw a rock at their silver El Dorado.
