Police Investigate Rash of Burglaries in Northeast Miami-Dade

Authorities are investigating a series of recent burglaries in northeast Miami-Dade, some of which were caught on camera.

One video shows an unwanted trespasser strolling onto a man's property and letting himself into a truck.

In another, which happened about 2:30 a.m. in northeast Miami-Dade's Skylake neighborhood, near I-95 and Miami Gardens Drive, Arielle Suster's home was hit.

"They stole all our computers and everything that wasn't plugged into the wall, I guess, jewelry, everything," Suster said.

"That's happening all over, you can't be safe, I mean, my cousin's house in Weston, they Stole hundreds of thousands of dollars," neighbor Becky Bordon said.

In about the last six weeks five homes and five vehicles in the area have been burglarized and investigators say some of the owners have made the common mistake of leaving doors opened.

Last Thursday, a suspect, possibly the same man, hit three vehicles. All the doors were unlocked.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
