Police Investigating Early Morning Break-In at Northwest Miami-Dade Beauty Supply Shop

A Miami beauty shop owner is assessing damage from what he says is the second break in at one of his stores in just days.

Police responded to the scene at the Beauty Exchange supply store off NW 10th Avenue and 118th Street. The store’s owner, Rabee Hamed, said the thieves smashed into the back of the store and stole a box of hair extensions.

The box contained 50 pieces of hair that the owner says are valued at $35  for each piece. A motion sensor inside the store set off an alarm shortly after the break-in, likely keeping more items from being taken.

"We don't have nothing but hair here. Hair and wigs. So I know they're coming for the hair," said Hamed.

The owner said he had around $20,000 worth of hair and other items stolen from his other store two days before – saying the crooks in that case broke in the same way.

"That's not right, you come take somebody else's stuff, somebody else's money," Hamed said.
