Police Take Man Into Custody After Multiple Dumpster Fires Set in Little Havana

Police have a person of interest in custody after at least eight fires were set in garbage dumpsters across Little Havana.

Miami Fire Rescue crews were called to several scenes early Monday morning, including one near Southwest 8th Street and 6th Avenue and another off Southwest 5th Street and 6th Court, during a 90 minute period.

No injuries were reported at any of the scenes and officials said a fence was damaged by one fire, but no other damage was reported.

Miami Police say they took one man into custody shortly after the incidents, adding he was later Baker acted and charges are pending.
