Police Investigating Possible Connection in Broward Armed Robberies

Pembroke Pines police say an armed robbery may be linked to a similar case in Miramar

Police are investigating a late night armed robbery at a gas station in Pembroke Pines and whether there is a link to a similar case in Broward.

Officers responded to the Marathon gas station located off Pembroke Road and Southwest 72nd Avenue around 10 p.m. Monday, after an armed robbery was reported.

Police said the robber fled the scene in a black Jeep going eastbound. Officials did not say if anyone was hurt or release details on what was taken.

Surveillance footage from the station captured the suspect committing the robbery.

After the incident, Pembroke Pines Police sent a message on social media saying this case may be linked to a similar case in Miramar, but did not go into detail about what brought them to that conclusion.

Police said the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force is handling the investigation.
