Police Investigating Woman's Killing in Lauderhill

Police are investigating after a woman was found shot to death in Lauderhill.

The discovery was made Friday at a home in the 1600 block of Northwest 34th Terrace, Lauderhill Police said Monday.

When officers arrived they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was later identified as 30-year-old Tiara Register.

Friends and neighbors described Register as a young mother and avid volunteer.

"That's disturbing. She was a good person, things like that aren't supposed to happen to good people," neighbor Wilfredo Jacsaint said.

Jacsaint said he saw her daily working with kids at a summer program at Lauderhill Point.

"She was just there helping to feed them, watch over them, make sure there weren't any mishaps," Jacsaint said.

Police said there are no suspects or leads in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
