Sunrise Police say a crook is on the run after causing a scare at Sawgrass Mills mall on New Year’s Eve.
Police said a white Hispanic male entered a jewelry store at the mall and asked to see a Rolex watch valued at more than $11,000.
That’s when police said another person set off fireworks inside the mall.
Police are referring to this crime as a “distraction theft.”
