Police: Man Who Killed Pregnant Sister Over Utility Bill Faces Additional Charge

A man who police say killed his sister in an argument over a utility bill is facing additional charges because his sister was pregnant at the time of the killing.

Fort Lauderdale Police say 25-year-old Willie Ward will face an added charge of manslaughter of an unborn child. He's already been charged with manslaughter in the death of his pregnant sister, 29-year-old Jaquinda Wright.

According to police, Ward got into an argument with Wright on July 30th over an electric bill. The argument turned violent, with Ward punching his sister in the head twice.

She collapsed and was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where she later died.

Detectives say Ward fled the scene initially, but was arrested without incident on August 2nd. It is not known if Ward has hired an attorney.
