Police Put Drunk-Driving Teacher in Time Out

Joann Tomas is charged with DUI and battery on a law enforcement officer

A Homestead elementary school teacher is sitting in adult timeout after police claim the woman was driving drunk and then attacked officers after she was arrested.

Joann Tomas, 42, had to be shocked with a Taser twice after breaking out of her handcuffs Wednesday and then hurling them at an officer.

The Spanish teacher at Dr. William Chapman Elementary School was erratically weaving through traffic when police pulled her over and noticed she looked like she had a bit too much of some spiked juice boxes.

Tomas even warned the officers that she was going to tell a fib on them and make them lose their jobs if they took her to jail.

"I am going to say you took my shirt off, lifted by skirt and touched my (expletive)," Tomas said, according to the police report.

But the teacher's unruly behavior didn't stop there. it only got worse at the jail, where Tomas allegedly channeled her inner Angelina Jolie and found a way out of her handcuffs, tossed them at one officer, while kicking another one in the groin.

It took two shocks with a Taser to finally stop Tomas, who also told police that she was studying to be an assistant principal.

Maybe this was all part of Tomas lesson plan on how not to keep your job.
