FHP Searches for Hit-And-Run Driver Who Ran Over Woman Who Fell Out of Car on South Florida Highway

Florida Highway Patrol officials identified the woman killed as 23-year-old Mariah Logan

Authorities are searching for a driver who ran over a woman who fell out of a car window on a South Florida highway and fled the scene early Sunday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a car was driving westbound on State Road 112 near State Road 25 when the incident happened just before 4:45 a.m.

The passenger, who was identified as 23-year-old Mariah Logan, was hanging out of the window, FHP officials said. Officials said Logan fell out of the window and onto the highway.

The driver of a Range Rover that was traveling behind the car ran over Logan. He initially stopped and then fled the scene before authorities arrived.

The driver of the car Logan was in and her two other passengers were not injured.

FHP officials said Logan and her friends may have been in South Florida for Spring Break and were heading to the airport when the incident happened.

Authorities are now searching for the person who ran over Logan. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
