Police Search for Suspects in Deadly Miramar Shooting, Carjacking

Miramar Police are on the hunt for the suspects responsible for shooting a man early Wednesday morning.

Barry Bromfield came home Wednesday morning to news his son had been shot outside their house on Alhambra Boulevard in Miramar.

"My heart tearing out," said Bromfield. "They say he got shot somewhere in his mouth."

Police say 24-year-old Gavin Bromfield got into a confrontation with someone around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, and ended up shot.

Rescue crews rushed him to Memorial Regional Hospital, while his mother frantically followed but doctors there could not save him.

Meanwhile, detectives used police dogs to try to track a killer in the dark and are still searching.

"Detectives are still trying to get eye witness accounts, see if there's any surveillance." said officer Natasha Richardson, Miramar Police.

Detectives say whoever shot Gavin Bromfield took off in his Lexus then ditched the car a few blocks south of the incident on Harbour Boulevard.

Police marked it for evidence, before a tow truck driver hauled it away.

No further information was provided by police.
