Police Seek Identity of School Laptop Thief

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying an individual they say made off with two laptops from a Miami-Dade County school.

Miami-Dade Police detectives said the unidentified person entered Highpoint Academy's main campus, located at 12101 SW 34th St., just before 8 p.m. on Dec. 1.

Surveillance footage captured an individual walking in the school's outdoor pavilion area. Authorities said he entered the school through an unlocked rear door and stole two laptops from the classrooms.

Highpoint Academy, founded in 1976, is a bilingual private school that educates students through 8th grade, according to its website.
