Port Canaveral CEO Apologizes Over Remarks

The CEO of Port Canaveral is apologizing for disparaging remarks he made about opponents of a proposal to build train tracks through a wildlife refuge.

Port Canaveral CEO John Walsh recently issued the apology in a press release.

During a public meeting last month, Walsh called opponents of the proposal "Luddites" and said that even their kids can't make them happy.

In his apology, Walsh says it was inappropriate for him to attack those who oppose building the tracks for cargo trains over the Banana River and through the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

Walsh says he intends to work with all constituents to make sure projects are done responsibly.
