From budget battles to political summits, there’s plenty happening in South Florida in the coming days. Here’s a preview of The Week Ahead:

Back to School in Monroe County: Students in Monroe County will go back to school on Monday, but not all at once. The Superintendent made the decision to resume school on a staggered basis, based on the condition of each school and neighborhood. For a full list of those schools, click here.

Ted Deutch Washington Summit: South Florida Congressman Ted Deutch will host a number of South Florida business and community leaders in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. The Democrat says he wants to talk about boating safety, border protection, immigration, tax reform and climate change with members of his community.

“Cuban Kim Kardashian” to Appear in Court: She’s known as the “Cuban Kim Kardashian” but on Tuesday, Instagram influencer Katherine Ferreiro will be in front of a South Florida judge. Ferreiro will be arraigned for a DUI charge from earlier this summer – a charge she pleaded not guilty to.

Budget Hearing for Miami-Dade County: Thursday is a big day for Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, as he presents his brand new budget to the County Commission. Some local lawmakers are raising concern though, because they are worried about the amount of money the Mayor wants to cut from public transportation and what it might mean for low income communities.

Court Appearance for Man Shot Before Irma: On Friday, the man who was shot by Miami-Dade Police just days before Hurricane Irma will appear in court. Authorities say the man was trespassing onto Miami International Airport at the time of the incident.
