Prisoner Guarantees Longer Stay With Bomb Threat Call

Mark Grobmyer called 911 from jail, threatening that he had 350 pounds of explosives

An inmate in the Sarasota County Jail has discovered the fastest way to get charged with three crimes - call 911 three times from the jail telephone.

Mark Grobmyer was arrested by Sarasota Police for robbery and grand theft and has been locked-up since July 5th.

Monday night, Grobmyer decided to charge up the charges against him three-fold by calling 911 three times and making bomb threats.

"I want to see a bomb squad vehicle in front of that building. I will call you back with my demands," Grobmyer said on the 911 recording. He also told the operator that he had 350 pounds of explosives and a remote detonator.

Because all calls are logged and recorded, jail officials traced the threat to Grobmyer in no time.

Now he may serve much more time in jail than he planned because he faces three additional charges of making a false bomb report.
