Pulse Fence Removed Ahead of New Memorial Fence

The fence surrounding Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub came down Monday.

First to come down was black tarp, which covered the chain link fence.

The black tarp holds words of remembrance, honoring the 49 people killed and 50 other injured there by a gunman in June.

Workers then peeled back the fence.

It will be replaced by a new memorial fence featuring local artwork.

The tarp and other items are being saved for a permanent memorial.

Any flowers placed at the site will be turned into compost to use in gardens around the city.
