Rapper Kodak Black Freed From SC Jail, Hopes to Clear Name

South Florida based rapper Kodak Black is a free man again after being released from jail in South Carolina.

He posted $100,000 bond for a criminal sexual conduct charge.

Kodak Black, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, posted a photo to his official Instagram account, sharing his release. The rapper is seen smiling as he walks out of a building which appears to be the jail in Florence County, SC.

In the caption, Kodak Black writes, "I'm happy to finally be going home to my family and friends. I look forward to clearing up my name in the very near future."

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports the Atlantic Records artist was set to be released from jail in August after pleading no contest to robbery and other counts. But authorities found outstanding warrants on a drug charge in Florida and the South Carolina case.

The Sentinel reports the 19-year-old Pompano Beach native was sent to South Carolina last week after serving time in the drug case. The charge stems from an incident in February.

Kodak Black signed a deal with Atlantic Records in 2015 and has been featured with several top hip hop artists, including Drake and French Montana.
