Car Owner Arrested After Firing Shots at Repo Man in Southwest Ranches

A repo man had to dodge bullets after the owner of a car that was being repossessed opened fire early Thursday in Southwest Ranches, police said.

No one was injured in the incident that happened near the area of Northwest 190th Avenue - located south of Griffin Road and east of U.S. 27, Davie Police said.

According to police, the driver of the tow truck was repossessing a Mercedes Benz when he got into an altercation with the owner of the Mercedes who was later identified as 57-year-old Juan Barquero.

Police say Barquero ordered the driver to drop his car off the tow truck, but when the driver attempted to leave he fired several shots, hitting the two truck multiple times and just missing the driver.

"I felt one go behind my neck, the heat of the bullet, other than that I don’t know what was going on," the driver told NBC 6.

The shooting shattered the truck's rear window, which had a "You Mad Bro?" sticker.

Barquero was arrested later in the day on charges that include attempted murder.
