6 Residents of Hollywood Assisted Living Facility Hospitalized After Becoming Sick

Six people were hospitalized after rescue crews responded to an assisted living facility in Hollywood Wednesday after some residents became sick.

Hollywood Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue crews responded to Emerald Park of Hollywood at 5770 Stirling Road.

Footage showed multiple patients being wheeled out of the facility on gurneys.

Hollywood Police officials said the six patients were taken to a local hospital with flu-like symptoms. Police said it is possible they were affected by the norovirus.

A family member of a resident told NBC 6 that Emerald Park briefed the families, telling them four out of the six patients transported to the hospital have been returned.
