A retired Secret Service agent has been hired by Broward County Public Schools to review the actions of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas employees, including its administration, during the Feb. 14 massacre.
Steve Wexler will look into which processes and procedures may have impacted the tragedy that killed 17 people, Broward Schools spokeswoman Nadine Drew told NBC 6.
Wexler had warned administrators two months before the mass shooting that the school could be vulnerable to a shooter, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
He told the Sentinel the faults were "blatantly obvious" and told the administrators they needed to fix them, but he never heard anything back from the school.
