Robber Hits 7 Stores on NW 27th Avenue

Miami-Dade Police are searching for a one-man crime spree that has hit multiple businesses along NW 27th Avenue in the past month.

According to police, there have been seven armed robberies within a one mile radius on NW 27th Avenue since October. An eighth robbery took place approximately four miles from the other incidents. Police think the robber may not be far from home when he commits the crimes.

β€œThey are used to the area, used to their community, they know the way to run,” said Detective Jason Hammond.

The suspect has hit an Orion Gas Station, a McDonalds, two Family Dollar stores, a Metroc PCS cell phone store and a Standard gas station near State Road 112.

β€œEach one of his robberies, he is known to get more and more dangerous,” said Detective Hammond. β€œHe is always on foot. We have him on surveillance where he walks quite some distance to local businesses.”

The one man crime wave has occasionally met his match. During one attempted robbery a clerk pulled out a baseball bat and frightened the thug off. Police said the man is medium build, around 5’6”, with a tee-shirt wrapped around his head. He wears tank-tops and tries to get in and out of a store in 20 seconds.

If you have any information about the criminal, call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
