SWAT Situation in NE Miami-Dade Ends With No Injuries: Police

A team was called out for a domestic dispute involving a man with a knife, police said

A SWAT team was called out for a domestic dispute on NE 205th St in Miami-Dade Friday afternoon after a 20-year-old man with a knife locked himself in a bathroom, but the situation ended with no injuries, police said.

Miami-Dade Police said that in the dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend, the man whipped out a knife and threatened her, and she in turn called police. After he shut himself in the bathroom, the SWAT team was brought in to 2665 NE 205th St., police said.

Police said they arrested the man. At 5:05 p.m. police walked him, shirtless, to a stretcher by an ambulance. Helicopter video showed him resisting somewhat and spitting at least once. A paramedic then put a cover over his mouth.
