Florida ranks second-to-last in happiness index

Well thank God for Oregon.

The Beaver State is the only thing keeping Florida from being the most depressing state in the union, according to new happiness rankings from mainstreet.com.

The Web site ranks the 50 states plus the District of Columbia on its Happiness Index annually and this year the FLA was D.O.A. when it came to being fiscally happy, settling in at number 50 out of 51.

The most fiscally happy state was Nebraska, followed by Iowa and Kansas.

The rankings are based on a number of financial factors, including unemployment rate, non-mortgage debt and foreclosure numbers.
