Saggy Pants Law Unconstitutional

Riviera Beach judge drops pants ordinance

Sorry fashion police, it's time to put away your badge.

A Palm Beach County Judge has ruled that an ordinance that prohibits sagging pants is unconstitutional, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Judge Laura Johnson overturned Riviera Beach's droopy drawers law, which gave fines for anyone caught wearing their pants so far below the waist that they showed skin or underwear.

The fashion faux pas carried a $150 fine for the first offense and $300 fine for the second offense, though less than two dozen were busted under the law.

The law had passed in March 2008 and was supported by 72 percent of city voters.
