A second person has been arrested in connection with the Dec. 29 shooting death of a Florida Atlantic University student, according to Boca Raton police.
Police arrested and charged 23-year-old Rodrick Woods with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. He's been ordered held without bond, and it is not known whether he has hired an attorney.
Donovan Henry, a 19-year-old soccer player for FAU, was arrested previously in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Nicholas Acosta.
An investigation into Henry's phone records on the day of the shooting led them to Woods, NBC affiliate WPTV in West Palm Beach reports.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at an off-campus student apartment housing complex, located at 135 Northwest 20th Street in Boca Raton.
Acosta's girlfriend told police that two black males knocked on their door. She recognized one of them, and invited them both into the apartment.
Moments later, she told police that three additional black males forced their way into the apartment and forced both she and Acosta to the ground. One of the suspects shot Acosta multiple times in the torso. He was transported to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Surveillance video taken on the night of the murder showed five black men arriving in two cars and entering the building moments before the shooting.
Moments later, the five suspects were seen leaving in both cars at a high rate of speed, police say.
Police say Woods was seen running from the apartment complex after the shooting, and that he was identifiable on the video thanks in part to a distinctive tattoo on his arm, according to WPTV.

Phone records also placed Woods at the apartment complex at the time of the shooting, and a witness identified Woods from the surveillance video, WPTV reports.
Woods was arrested on Monday in Miami-Dade county. He resides at a home in the 1600 block of Northwest 116th Street in Miami, according to jail records.
