Shooting Investigated at North Miami Pollo Tropical

North Miami Police are investigating a shooting that took place outside of a Pollo Tropical restaurant on Sunday afternoon.

Police have not confirmed any details.

Witnesses told NBC6 that the shooting took place on Northwest 7th Avenue and 121st Street.

According to a nearby business owner, the person who fired the shots fled westbound on Northwest 120th Street.

Police have focused much of their investigation in the parking lot of the restaurant and also on a portion on Northwest 7th Avenue, where NBC6 spotted at least two shell casings.

An area resident said he was watching TV in his living room when he heard the gunshots.

It’s unclear at this time if the shots struck someone.

NBC6 received this statement from Pollo Tropical on Sunday. “Unfortunately, earlier this afternoon there was a shooting in the parking lot of our restaurant. Our priority at this time is taking care of our guests and employees that were there during the incident.”

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
