Five people all under the age of 16 were reported injured after a golf cart was involved in a crash with a car in Palmetto Bay shortly before 1 PM on Monday.

Crew responded to the scene near SW 79th Place and 170th Street. Two of the injured, the 16 year old driver of the cart and a 12 year old passenger, were designated as pediatric trauma alerts by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Those children were taken to Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

"I did see a golf cart driving around with 4 kids in it, maybe 5. They were driving back and forth and playing a very loud radio," said Sebastian, a neighbor in the community. "I just hope they're all ok, if not I am hoping for the best."

The other three in the cart were either treated at the scene or taken to the hospital and later released.
