Slaughtered Horse Found in Southwest Ranches: BSO

Authorities believe the horse matches the description of Marco, an 8-year-old thoroughbred reported missing Saturday

Workers at a Southwest Ranches fish farm found the remains of a slaughtered horse on the property line of the business, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

The horse, which had white markings on its head and rear legs, was partially covered with branches when it was found Saturday near 5100 SW 210th Terrace. The two employees at South Eastern Fish Farms said they had not heard or seen anything “out of the ordinary,” according to a BSO event report.

Authorities believe the horse matches the description of Marco, an 8-year-old brown thoroughbred that was reported missing Saturday a few blocks away. The BSO has yet to make contact with Jesus Sangiao, the owner who reported the horse missing from Just Perfect Landscaping.

There are no known suspects at the time.
