Police are looking for four suspects behind a smash-and-grab robbery at a Miami-Dade jewelry shop who were scared off by the store's owner who confronted them with a gun.
The robbery happened back on Dec. 15 at the jewelry shop inside the 163 Street Mall in northeast Miami-Dade, police said.
According to police, the four suspects, including three who were wearing masks, entered the store and one of them started smashing glass cases with a hammer. The other suspects jumped over the counter and started removing jewelry from the shelves.
The store's owner was in the back but heard the glass breaking so he grabbed his gun and went to the front of the shop. When he pointed the gun at the suspects, they quickly fled, with surveillance footage showing one suspect falling over a plant in the scramble to get away.
The suspects were able to flee with about $10,000 worth of jewelry. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
