South Beach Prepares for Urban Beach Weekend

As tens of thousands descend upon Miami Beach for Urban Beach Weekend, police are preparing for the crowds and reminding everyone to be safe.

Miami Beach Police were already putting up signs Friday to remind visitors to keep the beaches clean and that there will be absolutely zero tolerance for drinking and driving.

Motorists can also expect some traffic changes during the annual event.

Ocean Drive will be open to pedestrians only. Collins Avenue will be one-way only headed northbound, while Washington Avenue will be one-way only headed southbound.

These traffic restrictions will be in place until 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say there were less than 100 arrests during last year's Urban Beach Weekend, which is significantly lower than in previous years.
