South Florida Apple Fans Await iPhone 7 Release

South Florida Apple fans have been lining up for days in anticipation of the release of the new iPhone on Friday.

Apple said the "Plus" will not be available for walk-ins but some of the people at the Apple store on Lincoln Road on Miami Beach are going to wait anyway.

There is a lot of hype surrounding the new iPhone 7 but loyal Apple customers might want to dial back their enthusiasm for the latest smartphone.

In a statement, Apple said: "during the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers."

"It kind of makes the situation kind of not as good as previous years, but in some ways it kind of makes being first that much more valuable," said Lloyd Pearson, the first in line outside the store on Lincoln Road.

Pearson said he's been in line since around noon on Tuesday.

Pedro Anjos and his buddy are in it for the long haul. They've got food, and of course their phones, to pass the time. When the store opens at 10 a.m. Friday, they would have logged 17 hours.

"We're gonna be here the whole night so we got to eat up," Anjos said. "We normally do this at a night playing video games so it's nothing for us."

Before the iPhone 7 hits shelves the new iOS 10 was released. It has improved messaging features, Siri is enhanced, and voicemails can be transcribed.
