South Florida Caretakers Accused of Restraining Woman With Duct Tape At Assisted Living Facility

Police said the women, who were caretakers at the Regal Park Assisted Living Facility, used duct tape to restrain the 67-year-old woman who suffers from dementia to a chair

Two caretakers at a South Florida assisted living facility were arrested after they used duct tape to restrain a woman in their care to a chair and to tape her mouth shut, authorities said.

Lashron Williams, 52, and Phygelle Brudent, 44, were arrested Thursday on charges of elderly abuse and false imprisonment, according to Boynton Beach Police.

Police said the women, who were caretakers at the Regal Park Assisted Living Facility, used duct tape to restrain the 67-year-old woman who suffers from dementia to a chair on July 3. They also used it on her mouth to stop her from screaming, police said.

Williams and Brudent were booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Attorney information wasn't available.
