A South Florida animal lover is offering an extreme amount of money to get back his lost cats.
Steve Rosen says $20,000 is on the table to whoever can bring back his missing cats that he says were taken off his property. He says no amount is too high to find the stolen cats.
"Between March of last year and February of this year seven of my cats have been stolen from the adjacent parking lot," he told NBC 6 Thursday.
The retired dentist and businessman said his cats were snatched one by one near his warehouse in Davie starting last year. He's so serious about getting his animals back that at one point he installed a $10,000 camera system and hired a private investigator, but no luck. Now he's offering the hefty reward out of desperation.
"The last straw effort was to try and put an ad in the Sun Sentinel with a $20,000 reward to see if I can get someone to flush out and let me know what's going on," Rosen said.
The cats are also microchipped and have radio collars but Rosen said nothing has turned up. Rosen takes care of about 30 rescue cats, a parrot and even a rooster. He said his furry friends mean the world to him.
"They're like my children. Imagine one of your children disappear and then another one disappears," Rosen said. "Granted, I know they're not human beings, a lot of people can't relate to it but those of us in animal rescue world know what I mean."

He said he's hoping greed will bring the cats back.
"Someone knows something and I'm hoping that they're gonna be willing to step forward and give somebody up in exchange for the reward. It's a bribe," he said.
Rosen said he could even raise the amount if the cats don't turn up soon.
