What to Know
- James Mucciaccio was approached by officers and told that he could not park on the dock with his car.
A new report details the moments where a South Florida man drove his Ferrari into the Intercostal Waterway – all because he told police that Jesus told him to do so.
NBC affiliate WPTV reports that Palm Beach Police released their findings from the December 26th incident in which James Mucciaccio intentionally drove the luxury vehicle off a dock.
According to the report, Mucciaccio was approached by officers and told that he could not park on the dock with his car. After going back to the car to get his license, police say he reversed the car off the dock before putting it into drive and accelerating into the water at a high rate of speed.
Mucciaccio was rescued and brought to shore, where he stated that Jesus told him to drive through a small gate and into a window.
"Jesus made me the smartest man on earth and it's so hard to have this much responsibility," he told officers, adding "Money is going to be irrelevant in two days, remember to smile."
Mucciaccio was not injured in the incident.
