Students, Faculty Surprise Principal Nun With Trip to Super Bowl

“We have a Super Bowl party every year, but this year because of Sister Margaret, there’s a special reason"

Students and faculty at Epiphany Catholic School in Miami were rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles during Super Bowl LII.

The school’s beloved principal, Sister Margaret Fagan, is the biggest Eagles fan of them all. So much so, that her students and faculty gave her the gift of a lifetime: a ticket to the big game in Minneapolis.

“We have a Super Bowl party every year, but this year because of Sister Margaret, there’s a special reason,” said Ileana Alvarez, a teacher at Epiphany Catholic. “We are all here rooting for the Eagles.”

The Philly native has been an Eagles fanatic since childhood, and everyone on campus knows.

“If you’re walking by her office, everything in there is Eagles,” said one of her students attending the Super Bowl party in Fagan’s honor held at a home in South West Miami-Dade.

The partygoers had even more of a reason to celebrate after Philadelphia defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 to clench the team’s first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
