South Florida Reacts to Viral Breastfeeding Photo

It's a photo that's sparking a firestorm on social media.

Actor Michael Beach's wife smirks at the camera while breastfeeding her daughter, sitting on a toilet.

The photo getting mixed reactions, such as "Disgusting," or "Completely normal. It's not that problematic at all."

The actor said on Instagram that he took the photo because his wife thought it was a classic shot about some of the things she deals with as a mom.

Elisha Beach uploaded the photo earlier this week with a caption that reads "This is motherhood and it ain't always pretty."

"She has to use the bathroom and her kid's hungry, so why not do both," asked Marva McCraney, a South Florida parent.

Social media is buzzing with comments about the photo, but a member of a local chapter of international breastfeeding support organization La Leche League sums up the picture with "What's the big deal?"

"That's actually very indicative of the way most mom's lives are. Our children come to the bathroom with us," said Christine Thompson, of La Leche League of Fort Lauderdale.

Hygene, however, seemed to be a concern for those who saw the picture both on the streets of Miami and online.

"I mean who would breastfeed a baby on the toilet?" asked Regina.

"Breastmilk has antibacterial properties to it. So it's not like her breasts were touching anything other than the babies mouth," added Thompson.

Others, specifically men had absolutely no problem with the breastfeeding, but a pretty big disagreement with the husband volunteering to snap the bathroom image.

"The picture of you on the toilet and out in the open on social media like, nahh! I wouldn't approve of that," said Patricio Blanco.

"If she's doing number 2.. it's wore," added Matias Rivera.

"Do you go to the toilet? We all do! I don't see what the problem is?!"
