South Floridians Win 6th Annual Key Largo Run

The event attracted 771 participants.

Two south Floridians have won overall men's and women's half-marathon titles at the sixth annual Key Largo Bridge Run in the Florida Keys.

Miami's Scott Byers, 34, ran the Saturday race in one hour, 25 minutes and 14 seconds.

Big Pine Key resident Helena Bursa, 39, finished 01:31:33 to win the women's division.

Overall 10K division winners were Lauretta Bailin from Amesbury, Mass., with a time of 42:53, outpacing Marathon, Fla., resident James Kidney's time of 43:53 in the men's division.

Men's and women's 5K division winners were Islamorada's Ivan Diaz, 28, and Erinn Cowell 38, of Tequesta, Fla., each posting a time of 21:30 and 24:49, respectively.

The event attracted 771 participants. The 2015 run is set for Saturday, Nov. 7.
