Southwest Miami-Dade Child Recovering In Hospital After Drive-by Shooting as Police Search for Those Involved

An 11 year old Miami-Dade boy is recovering after being shot late Monday night and rushed to the hospital.

Crews responded to the scene near SW 173rd Street and 103rd Avenue shortly after 10 PM. Officials say the victim, Jamarie London, was speaking to his brother when a dark colored SUV drove by and opened fire, striking him.

Neighbors said they heard between six and seven gun shots and ran outside to help. The child was taken into his home until paramedics arrived.

London was taken to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. So far, police have not released any motive in the shooting or who the intended target was, saying the investigation is ongoing.

Miami-Dade Police are offering an additional $5,000 for anyone with a tip leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
