Silva is now reliving those memories with his son.

“My dad told me that we were going to cut my hair and then he brought me here by surprise,” said Gabriel Silva.

The Legends Tour, which is a traveling Hot Wheels Car Show, made its way to the Walmart in Doral to give fans a chance to meet Hot Wheels designers.

The Silva’s said they watch Hot Wheels on YouTube, TV and own about three boxes full of cars.

“I have a bunch of Hot Wheels cars and came here to see all the ones I have,” said Gabriel.

As The Legends Tour continues to make its way around the country, they are asking people to bring their custom cars to enter them for a chance to be featured at the Las Vegas Auto Show, where it will have a chance to be made into a Hot Wheels diecast car, which will be sold worldwide.

Tony Batterson of Davie won Saturday’s competition. His car took six years to build and was finished two years ago. Over 270 vehicles were entered in Saturday’s competition and almost 3,800 people attended.
